It’s hard to describe a “typical” day on the race. But here is a glimpse of what most of our days have looked like here in Vietnam.

Mornings come early around here….we start between 6 and 7 am each day. Every day does start at the beach though…can’t get much better than that!

The beach is packed with locals early in the morning. There are multiple groups who practice aerobics and dancing every morning, and the girls on our team join them every MWF. Three weeks in and we still don’t know all the moves…but it’s made us lots of laughs and friends. I’ll call that a win.

After aerobics, we play beach volleyball. We just start a game and locals join in. We tend to have a handful of regulars each day and they have really helped us improve our game. ;P

After our time on the beach, we spend time building relationships through coffee/tea during the mid-morning hours.

This includes being a consistent face at our particular coffee shop and befriending the workers. This also includes coffee dates with locals to get to know them, help them practice their English, and to learn about the culture here.

Our afternoons vary each day. Here are some of the things our afternoons may include:

Day-to-day errands and tasks. Sometimes this includes grocery shopping and other times this includes going to get our bikes repaired.

Team time. It looks different each day, but we always have a time to come together and talk about our day and prepare for the next days.

Other service opportunities as they arise. The cool thing about this month is that we have each been able to find our own opportunities and use our gifts in different ways each day. This particular day we were all involved in a photo shoot. 🙂

We finish our days with different English clubs, where we are able to connect with people and get to know them through helping with conversational English.

Our days here have been full, but we wouldn’t have it any other way! Vietnam has been a month full of adventure, lessons, and relationships. It’ll be hard to leave at the end of this week!
