Hey friends!
It’s been almost a whole 2 months since I’ve written a blog-sorry about that! Life has been so crazy, yet amazing, here in South Dakota this summer. Let me tell you, God is so faithful! Be looking for a new blog about some things that have been on my heart lately to come out this week! 
Until then, I wanted to give you some updates on my race, as a lot has been happening within the last 2 weeks or so!
Fundraising:
If I’m being real with you, I’ll tell you that fundraising is hard. It can be discouraging and is probably the area of the race that causes me the most anxiety. But, I know that God is faithful and is calling on me to trust Him in this area. You all have been so amazing in providing support and encouragement in this season-thank you! My goal is to have 75% of my funds by the end of October. Now, looking at my fundraising bar, you may be thinking I’m crazy. It’s a big goal that would require about $2,400 in support to come in each month from August thru October. That would put me at $12,762 total by the end of my training camp. Crazy goal-but I’ve seen my God move some mighty mountains before and I”m trusting that He can do that now.
Want to know how you can play a part in moving this mountain? Here are some things that will be happening within the next couple of months:
1. Edison’s Fun Night
If you live in the Bethalto/Edwardsville/Madison County area invite your friends to come hang out and battle each other in bowling and laser tag! $10 gets you unlimited access between 5:00 and 9:00 pm at Edison’s in Edwardsville. Contact me for tickets!
2. Adopt-A-Country Collection
If you adopted a country and have been collecting change- I will be collecting the change at the end of August! If you live far away, please just count the change and contribute that amount through the blog or mail a check. After emptying your jars,you can continue to collect change through December if you’d like and I will collect them again after Christmas!
3. Yard Sale!
I will be holding a yard sale in Bethalto (possibly Mt. Sterling as well if there is a lot of interest) in September to help raise money for the race. You can help by attending! Also, if you or anyone you know has things they would like to get rid of, please send them my way. Clothes, books, furniture, etc! I’d love to have a large collection of items to sell and a large turn out of buyers! Friends in both the Bethalto and Mt. Sterling area can donate- just let me or my mom know and we can arrange to pick up your items.
4. Prayerfully consider becoming a monthly supporter. If 50 people committed to donating $30 a month for 11 months, I’d be fully funded! Any donation or contribution helps!
Route Change!
There have been some changes to the list of countries that I will be traveling to!
Instead of Greece, I will be heading to Albania!
Instead of Botswana, I will be heading to Zimbabwe!
Change and flexibility will be key on the race and this is just the beginning of seeing that! I’m excited to see what God has in store for these countries. If you have adopted Greece or Botswana and would like more information on the country that has replaced it-let me know and I will get you different info cards!
Launch Date and Order!
Everyone’s been asking, and I finally have an answer! I will head to Georgia on either January 7 or 8 for a few last days of training and preparation and I will leave the U.S. to head to India a few days later!
The order of the countries is always subject to change, but as of now this should be countries in the order that I will visit them!
