My mom and Frank got the opportunity to come visit me on the field for 5 days at the beginning of my month 10. They traveled all the way to Swaziland to experience the life that I’ve been living this year. It was an incredible experience to be able to share what the Lord has been teaching and showing me this year with them. Here is a little glimpse of the experience through my mom’s perspective.

*Sorry for the lack of pictures. Wifi in Africa is a struggle.*

My husband and I were blessed with the opportunity to participate in PVT. We would be meeting our daughter in Swaziland, Africa. We had never really traveled before, so this was a big leap for us.

They said to bring no expectations, so that is what we did. After, approximately, 19hrs of flight time, we landed in Swaziland. Right from the start we realized this was going to be an experience like none we have had. We soaked up the scenery as the bus drove us an hour to the site we would stay at.

As the bus pulled in and we caught a glimpse of the racers, the tears flowed. We were so excited to see our daughter and hear her stories. We spent the next 5 days doing life with the racers and fellow parents. We spent time at carepoints where children come to hang out and have a hot meal (often their only meal of the day).

We were in aww of everything that AIM does. We were equally impressed with the racers. We only got a small sample of what their life has been like the past 9 months. In a short time, we built friendships with other parents and got a better understanding for why our kids’ hearts are in this. We learned to be patient and flexible as things don’t always go according to plans.

As PVT came to an end, we didn’t want to leave. It was a phenomenal experience. I highly recommend it to anyone that gets the opportunity to participate. DO IT!!! You will walk away with a whole new perspective on your child, AIM and life.
