Dear Nepal,

You were a new kind of adventure for me. Aside from the hours of hiking, and rafting down your rivers, you presented me with a new love for adventure. You hold so much beauty, and you hold so many beliefs, some of which present many dangers for others, but that’s the adventure.

I had never seen faith like I saw it in you. Your mountainsides have become homes and refuges for God’s children who are actively seeking him out, and they stand as a testimony to his greatness. You hold one of the highest points in the world, and in that, I could sometimes feel you reaching toward heaven, stretching out toward God.

You challenged my faith, not because of anything hard beyond measure, but because I witnessed so much faith in the people, and that made me question whether or not I truly live in faith.

You were the first culture I fell in love with, and you made me more excited for my lifetime of adventures that lies ahead. I’ll miss you, my dear friend, but I know I’ll see you again, either on this earth, or in eternity.

In his faithfulness,

Sydney
