Dear India,

I’d be lying if I said I enjoyed every minute of you. You were the hardest start to one of my hardest journeys. You made me question my desire to be a missionary, and you pushed me to my mental limits. But I appreciate you with more than I can put into words.

You showed me the real and raw, the uncomfortable side to missional life, and the brokenness that abounds in this world. You gave me souls to love, and in that, I loved you. There were times when I thought I could never come back to you in the future, but knowing the challenges you presented and the rewarding joy I left with, I now know that there is an unspeakable amount of love just waiting to be unleashed in you, and nothing excites me quite the same.

You were tough, but rewarding, and for that, I am forever grateful.

Much love,

Sydney
