Hello & welcome to the land of smiles. I have finally made it to Thailand. The thing that seemed so far away came so fast and all of a sudden I found myself halfway across the world, living the life I have desired with the lord.
Thailand is referred to as the land of smiles & let me tell you, I fit right in. I love living life in another country. It feels as though I was born for this. Truly it is amazing here in more ways than one.
As a squad, we live in a hostel. Each team has their own room. We all share showers which are up on the roof. The roof is one of my favorite places because of its view. I could sit up there all day long. We also have a kitchen where we can cook if wanted. And conveniently for me, there is a coffee shop downstairs. We are blessed with an amazing place to stay & amazing hosts.
Our first few days here have been rest days & time to explore after a long 72 hours of traveling. It has been a blast. Down the street there is a night market with tons of food & vendors selling clothes, bracelets, wallets, etc. It is filled with joy and fun.
This week we get to start our ministry. My team is going to a school to teach English. It is about a 20 min drive from our hostel. We take a local taxi system (It’s a blast to stand on the back of them). At this school we have the chance to not only teach the children English, but to share Christ with them & also learn Thai from them. The children are adorable and I can not wait to begin a season of pure joy.
