“Peace Be Still”
Three simple words put together to drive me crazy by how much I have repeated them this past week. Lately this song has been my go to. On my way to school, to work, or just going for a drive, I continue to hear these words. They pop up in my prayers. At first it was an amazing song, but now it is has meaning to me.
Once again, this week, I began to worry about The Race: fundraising, packing, being gone for so long. I went to take control and try to fix it. Except I failed quickly.
I FINALLY began to let go. I began to pray.
Peace be still
Say the word and I will
Set my feet upon the sea
Till I’m dancing in the deep
I asked the Lord for peace. Mostly with fundraising. I think my words were “father help me know you’ve got this. You know what I need to strengthen my trust in you.” With my very little amount of patience, the Lord gave me what I needed. He told me to step back and be still.
Oh peace be still
You are here so it is well
Even when my eyes can’t see
I will trust the voice that speaks
When I could not see him, I heard him whisper Isaiah with the numbers 48:6. If I’m being honest I had no idea what this verse was so I quickly ran to my bible. This section is called ‘God’s stubborn people’. Alright I deserved that one. I was definitely being stubborn.
“You have heard; now see all this; and will you not declare it?” Isaiah 48:6
“The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength.” Isaiah 58:11
The power of prayer is so strong! Never underestimate God. I was reminded that God has called me to go and he will also provide the necessary things that come with that.
Sometimes, it isn’t about working the hardest and deserving it, but instead about stepping back and being still.
I am covered with peace and so willing to share it will you!
Thank you for taking your time to read this! And thank you to everyone who has donated, let’s keep going! You all are awesome!
