Our second week of ministry in Nepal was completely different than our first or anything we’ve done so far. We got to teach at a Hindu preschool. Every morning would start off with an assembly where during the assembly we would sing songs, rub our hands to warm our faces (still haven’t figured that one out) then the teacher leading would call each student forward one by one and ask them if they brushed their teeth, washed their hands and put on clean underwear. If the answer was yes, they were in the clear and on their way, if the answer was no they would need to explain themselves in front of everyone, what a time.

It was different in the fact that we weren’t allowed to directly share the gospel. Yes, during our breaks we could share a but about what we where doing etc. but we were more so relying on showing Christ in the way we love and in the way we serve.

We played games, sang songs, wrote the alphabet and just spent time with the kids. These children are incredibly smart; they could even spell the word chameleon, wow wow wow! They everyone has something to teach you or something like that. Well, spelling chameleon is definitely a skill I refined because of these children while at the school.

Going off on a tangent for a moment… Everyday the younger of the children would have nap time and they would lay their heads down on their desks and snooze and it was the cutest thing ever.

Another neat thing was that at the end of the day, we got to help the kids put on their shoes and then walk them out to their parents. We got to have little conversations with the parents about the kids and how they were doing or what we were doing here or something along those lines before we sent the kids off on their way. I hope that the parents noticed something different about us.

These kids are great and such a blast, I pray they know how deeply they are loved by us and by their heavenly father.
