I signed up for the world race gap year almost a year ago. Now it’s happening for real! I am currently in Atlanta, Georgia for what they call launch which is basically final training before we head out to India on Monday. YES, I SAID MONDAY! Leaving was never something I thought was going to be hard, “it’s just a part of this trip, I’ve done it before and I’ll do it again.” (That’s what I thought) If I’m being honest though, saying goodbye wasn’t easy. Even though it sucks, it’s a sweet reminder of my community back home that has given me the opportunity to love and be loved. Leaving is hard but I am so ready to begin this big crazy adventure.
This journey since first signing up has been amazing. Fundraising was a first for me, it was daunting at the start however it has gone unimaginably well. I’m almost fully funded! I feel so blessed and extremely grateful to be able to go on this journey. The sad goodbyes are over, India, I am ready for you!
