i cant tell you how often people ask me, why india? and if im honest, theres no clear answer. i dont know how to describe it, but i truly just felt called and drawn to it. all throughout my senior year, i remember i was asked a lot about travel and if i could pick one place, where would i go? and every time, without fail, the answer was india. i dont know what it was about india but i just knew.

i think a lot of the reason why india did interest me at the time was because of a quote i saw once that read,

“for every

kind soul

you meet

with a

beautiful

story to

tell, may

you know

that you

are worthy

of being seen

that way as

well.”

-mhn

this quote excites and motivates me to just go. to go and to listen to the stories of those who i encounter. i want to gather the stories of others and be changed by their accounts. i want to be deeply challenged and tested by what i see and experience in india. i want to get into the mud and serve.

there is a story in the bible where Jesus washes the feet of His disciples the night before His crucifixion and this story is such a deeply moving one for me because throughout my life, i have had counselors and leaders that have washed my feet. to me this story, this action is such a signal fire of pure, true love and sacrifice. for to have people care so much for you to get low enough, to do something like wash your feet, to make you clean. it has just always meant a lot to me and made me feel really seen and cared for. with that being said, i want to do the same wherever the Lord sends me. right now, that place for me is india and i simply cant wait to be used for His glory, for His kingdom.
