One question I have gotten from a few people is why I’m going on the World Race Semester trip. There are some main reasons behind my decision and I wanted to share those with you all.

The first is to further my relationship with God by immersing myself into an atmosphere where I’m working alongside other believers and growing in my faith with them. I’ve felt a strong pull to the mission field for a while but made the decision to go after receiving very clear messages during this fall’s chapel speakers and through many good connections and conversations during mission’s week at Grace.

The second is to work to fulfill my part of the Great Commission. We are called by Jesus to “go out onto the world and preach the word of God unto all creation.” (Mark 16:15) Most people are stingy when it comes to this and don’t even want to work in their own communities. I feel called to work in other countries where the people don’t have as many opportunities to receive the Gospel or help like we do in the States.

The third is to serve others where their needs need to be met. I’m looking forward to the changing schedule, test of faith, and new experiences that come with every day and interaction.
