So I just spent 11 days in Gainesville, Georgia at training camp the 10-20th. I don’t know of just one good word to describe it but it was a lot, it was hard, mind boggling, fun, interesting, and just super cool. We learned a lot of information on just about everything. We worshipped together (best worship EVER!), we had many speakers that helped us to ask God the hard questions. We learned how to take bucket showers which is using a 5 gallon bucket to put water in and then using a cup to pour onto yourself. We had a fitness hike 2.2 miles in 38min and they had simulations setup to teach us situations that we will encounter on the field to see what that would be like.

 

So now I am just going to put some bullet points from different sessions we had that stood out of me.

  • Walk with Christ, he will ask us to give EVERYTHING we have.

  • Salvation is free

  • God loves me too much to love me the way I am. (he wants us to change for him once we enter a relationship with him but he still loves you the way you are and wants to meet you there)

  • Give up your old self and let him make you like him

  • You can never lose giving into God

  • If I follow him I have to discipline myself

  • Go find the one that God is looking for

  • Don’t water down the gospel

  • Don’t love this world

  • It’s not because there is a law against it, it is your love for Jesus that makes you not want to (he can give you MORE)

 

We also learned how to Evangelise and Disciple to people that do not know the Lord or who think they do but in reality they are just religious. That last part may sound harsh but I have seen it and I never want to be it. We are made by God to have a personal connection with him, to let the holy spirit do its thing in your heart and let Him live in you and not you in yourself. I know I grew up in church and I was never fully taught what the holy spirit means for your life. GUYS GOD SPEAKS TO YOU THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT!!! How stinking cool is it that the God of the universe put himself in ALL of us just to be able to connect with him on a deeper level. I always thought God could only talk to pastors and “special” people but that is not the case. I started learning more and more about the holy spirit and how he speaks a couple years ago and I am still trying to wrap my brain around it but it is such a sweet thing to learn. Hearing from the holy spirit is even sweeter though and I pray that everyone one day will learn just how amazing it is because that is how God speaks to us. We had a talk on this so I am going to put some bullets that our speaker made (HE WAS AMAZING AND BROUGHT THE WORD DOWN AND HARD)

  • John 16:7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

  • The holy spirit tells us to love people that are different from us

  • Everyone hears him, people just don’t know who’s talking

  • The holy spirit convicts non-believers of their sin

  • Ask God “God what are you doing? I want to partner with you.”

  • Give it to Jesus because he will help make it enough

  • The holy spirit does not have visitation rights he has habitation rights

  • Romans 8:9 (open your Bible or if you don’t have one google it 🙂

  • He is here to stay

  • The holy spirit wants intimacy

  • We shall be his witnesses NOT jurors

  • Acknowledge God in ALL ways and he will tell you what to do

  • When you hear from God it should line up with scripture and/or the character of God (he is a loving God)

  • ALWAYS have a YES in your Spirit!!!!!

  • What’s holding you back from listening and letting him speak clearly to you?

To know God is to love him, Jesus was not religious, he in fact crossed every “religious” boundary in  his time. He loved those who were seemingly “unloveable” or “untouchable” he let those people follow him and that is who he hung out with. None of our relationships with God should look the same. We are all different and he connects with everyone different so do not get down if you do not connect with God the same way someone else does, he wants to be unique with you. Tell your sins to God and let him heal you so you can be renewed! He wants to heal you, he does not want there to be any roadblocks getting in the way of you coming to him.

 

Those are some strong points I have had on my heart since I have been back home and there are many more I will share with you guys another day. Something I think everyone has been wanting to know is when is my last day here/when do I head out…..

 

SEPTEMBER 9th!!!!!  

 

I have to be in Atlanta then and my whole squad will be there and from there they will tell us when exactly our flights are but that is the day I will be leaving Kansas(:
