Surender;cease resistance to an enemy or opponent and submit to their authority.

This is something I think I have been struggling with these past couple weeks that have gotten me down….maybe even months. Claiming to surrender is so easy to talk about, yet actually doing it is so difficult. It is also crazy that this one word is so POWERFUL!! Jesus wants us to surrender our life to him…he died for us. He was brutally beaten and punished. For what? That seems like a simple question right? I have always thought so; “He died for our sins”… easy answer right? No and yes. It is an easy yet repetitive phrase we have learned, but take a second. HE DIED FOR YOUR SINS!! He didn’t die for just one little mess up or cuss word you said that day..no he died for all sins, even those that might seem unforgivable. This even includes the ones in politics that have the whole world shaken up. Jesus was thinking of them up on that cross. He knew their name, he knew that sin and guess what? He still loves them, he is still chasing after their heart. That makes me speechless because something like that seems unimaginable on this earth.
So surrender right? It is easy to think if we give up one or two things that we are bad then we are surrendering, and yes that’s good but it is not total surrender. God has this amazing power over us that if we surrender EVERYTHING, depression, terminal illness, anxiety, work, relationships, money, kids, whatever you can think of, HE CAN HEAL IT. GODS GOT THIS. We do not have to be in control and that is so so so hard, I get that. I struggle everyday. But if we do hand it over day after day he will change it and he will change you. Awh jeez I am so in awe of how crazy our God is about us.
With it recently being Easter I think this is an even bigger reminder. Take the time to realize what that day actually means and carry it into everyday. Jesus didn’t die for you to celebrate just on Easter, no he died for us so we could celebrate him rising everyday. In our church we call it a Jesus Party. Well everyday is a Jesus Party! Celebrate with him everyday. I am not going to lie I am not the perfect little christian girl. No, I do not want to be called that. I sin daily, I have done things I am not proud of. I am just a girl chasing Jesus and falling in love with him the more I learn. But man what Jesus did for us so we could have eternal life with him!! He died for everyone, for those who know him and even those who do not choose him. He gave us a choice to choose. Just think about that…we have an amazing Father people and for those who don’t know him yet…you can it’s not to late and he loves you just as much and is standing a step away with his arms open wide. His grace is enough for all, I have to remind myself of that daily. Go to him, he is waiting for you.(:
