Monday was national kids day so we got to spend the day with some amazing kids (2000 of them). They spent there whole morning just loving on these kids and playing games, putting on a little show and letting them start eating candy at 9am lol.
Later that night for dinner our 10 men we have on our squad decided they wanted to serve us extra special for dinner. So as soon as us girls would get home they would come tell us to put on something nice and feel pretty for dinner and that we couldn’t come into the dining room until they let us in. So when they finally let us in they had set up bowls and washed our feet and asked us about our day and then placed us at a table where they had put name cards with an encouraging note on it. Some girls were brought to tears at this because a man had never treated them like this before or cared for them in this way. These men are showing us woman what true men of God are and how they should take care of us and they demonstrate it daily and it is so cool to see. Then we had a little swing dance party after dinner(:
Tuesday we got to do woman’s ministry ourselves and set up a tent in the park and did hair, makeup and nails. This was super cool and kind of hard. Hard being some women would not want it and we later found out why. Some women here can’t do things without there husbands permission. So just learning more on there culture to what is and isn’t aloud. But the women we did get to pamper we got to show them a ton of love and feel beautiful and seen. Our translator who is the cosmetologist as well was able to share words of God with woman dealing with hard things at home and got to pray with them.
There is just two days in the life of ministry here but there is so much more and I can’t wait to share more! Thanks for reading!(: (also posting all the pics on fb so find them there if you want more(:
God Bless,
Sydney
