So at training camp my team leader came around to all of us on the last night of worship and gave us all a word that he heard from God in the time while he prayed for us. The word he spoke over me was “new wine” they talk about a new wine in the bible as a good joyful thing. That in Acts 2 the people were so excited and joyful that others were asking if they were drunk. Peter however stood up and told them no it was because the holy spirit was upon them that they were like this. I think that is such an amazing thing to think of and to proclaim to people. If you let the holy spirit take over and live with him then you will be happy, yes bad things are bound to happen but because we are living with him he will keep our heart and soul safe. He will let us keep living joyfully for him.
The background of this painting are the colors of the rainbow. I have always loved the rainbow and the colorfulness of it. I never really thought about it until after I had painted it as to why. I was sitting there and started to remember the rainbow that God showed in the sky after the flood and what it resembled. That rainbow signified God’s promise to his people that he would never flood the earth again. So the rainbow reminds us of this promise EVERYTIME it rains. He is literally in the sky telling us this everytime it rains, how amazing is that to think of?! I also want to think about the rainbow not only signifying that promise to us but ALL of his promises to us. Our God can promise us so much that we can never have from anything on this earth. He promises me (and you) daily of his extravagant love for us, of the forgiveness of our EVERY sin, that he will never fail us, that we are made in his image and we are beautiful, that he is in us and wanting to work through us to build his kingdom. God promises us eternal life in Heaven with him if we accept him as our Lord and savior. He won’t ever let go of you and he wants to be connected to you and will never ever stop fighting for you. He also will pull us out of that pit we have fallin into because no one is ever to far gone. His love has zero limits.
So I think in his promises alone gives me hope, happiness, and a joy that is just uncontrollable. I know that I will have days that I am just not feeling it and life is hard and it seems to get the best of me but in remembering who I am called to be by my maker and father….well that is always something to smile about. God doesn’t give us hardships, and I do not believe that he will ever give us more than we can handle, I think he will push and pull us but always in a way that we can come through stronger with him then before. It may take awhile for some people to come to the light of it and trust God again and I have been there but once you learn to turn to God immediately in all situations it becomes better. He calms the storms and splits seas. So I fully believe he can calm our own storms in our lives and let us breath. We worship a powerful all healing God and he wants to break us free from all chains.
So maybe that got a little off topic… I am not good at writing, but those are my reasons for being joyful in the Lord, for being weird, silly and a little loud sometimes. (: I know he gave me these traits for a reason and to be able to be happy even in the hard times is not because I myself am a strong person, I’m not but my God is and he gives me that strength to get through those times and that itself makes me so joyful and want to praise him so much more because I am seeing and feeling what he is doing in me.
Thank You for taking your time out of your day to read a little of my heart. (: launch is getting so so so close I leave Kansas to head to Georgia with my parents September 7th! I am $3,000 away from being fully funded and if you would like to help me financially to go into the world and help build the Kingdom I would love to partner with you. If not that is totally fine I would love it even more if you could pray for me as me and my squad take on this next season and for the people we will encounter, that there hearts are open to learning about God’s promises to them whether they know him or not.
Thank you again and God bless(:
