So, we're all a little stressed out.
In chatting with other fellow October '11 Racers, we've all come together on one particular issue: fund-raising. Why is it so darn hard to trust God to bring in our support? Well, we have to believe he is bigger then money. Heck, He's big enough to move mountains, feed 5,000, raise Jesus from the dead! So let's believe Him for a couple dolladolla bills, y'all.
In fact, let's move our focus away from the burdens on our shoulder and fixate on the reason that He's called us to go. For me, this is my heart:

This is one of my sweet, sweet students. He constantly has a smile on his face and is one of the most joyful children I've ever met. I just want to hug him all the time. This is why I love my job. This is why I am so excited about the Race, because I get LOVE on people.
And I LOVE kids. Love them. I promise I don't have baby fever. Yes, I know I'm 25, and some may find it awkward when I unintentionally gravitate toward every baby, toddler, or child I see. I am perfectly fine pushing off the responsibilities of sleepless nights, diapers, and PTA meetings, but I do want to hug your child.
I am thrilled about the opportunity to work in an orphanage somewhere in Africa, to love on sweet babies in Central America, to lead a bible study for young girls in East Asia. I am convinced that this is a passion put in me from our God in Heaven. I am convinced that through serving, loving, hugging these children, we are showing them Christ.
"One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children." –Mark 10:12-14
So let's fix our eyes on the great purpose God has for us over these 11 months. Let's have faith like a child that God will take care of our every need.
Every dollar, every moment, every soul we'll meet is His. What have we to fear?
