We made it to Ukraine! After a lot of travel, adventure, language barrier – team L’Chaim made it to our location, Lutsk, Ukraine. I can’t believe it’s only been a week since I left home, it seems as though it has been so much longer. I am working on some more thorough posts that I will try to upload as soon as I can. We are still in the process of navigating the internet around here. As of last Sunday I left early in the morning to head to New York, I was met there by my friend and teammate from my year in Jeffrey’s Bay and he kindly took me and my two teammates to New Jersey. We had two days of leader training and can I just say… there are some phenominal leaders on this squad. It was amazing to see their hearts and hear the Lord speak so clearly through them. It’s an honor to be able to sit along side such a community of leaders… I learn so much from them. After some training and a last American shower we headed to the airport and boarded our flight to Paris. After a sophistocated layover complete with the airports orange toilet seats… very classy. We then took a few short hours to fly to Kiev, Ukraine and hit the ground running. We checked into a hostel and then we left to get details figured out. The next day a few of us ventured to the train station to attempt to get out tickets to our various locations throughout Ukraine… that was interesting. I think it took us just short of 3 hours. But we were victorious! Later that day after running nonstop we went to the airport to meet our teams. From there on we said goodbye to our squadmates for the month and team L’Chaim got on the train headed for Lutsk! Upon arrival we met a man named Adam – an American who was with the Peace Corp who helped us out. Our contacts picked us up and brought us to our apartment and we got settled in. We are excited to start ministry. Hopefully I can post a better blog later with more detail. I love you guys. Please continue praying for us as we settle into our lives as world racers… ask that the Lord would give us a heart for all we meet and his eyes to see the opportunity around us.
