I have my first fundraising event this weekend on Saturday, May 3rd! It wasn’t planned that far in advance (about 10 days? Haha) and the opportunity pretty much fell into my lap.

Every year Bluesprings (the local soccer fields) puts on a “Funday” for the community to attend. The league sets up inflatables, games, water slides, and such for everyone in attendance. Then they sell booth space to vendors for $15. I wasn’t aware it was this weekend until I was on the website looking for other information, when I saw they still had booth space available. For such a low price and such a large audience, it seemed too good to pass up!

So I reserved a booth and have been getting things in order. I have decided to sell some of my own photographs which makes me really nervous. Photography has always been a hobby of mine, but never a serious one. I’ve never taken any classes, and I have definitely never tried selling any of it. Mainly, it’s just something I enjoy doing, and I’ll use my pictures for Christmas gifts.

However, being nervous about this excites me in a way, because I can’t wait to see how God will use this event. I have no idea what to expect. Maybe everyone will hate my pictures, and I won’t sell a single one. But maybe I will. Maybe no one will pay my booth any attention because I’m not painting faces or passing out balloon animals. But maybe some people will stop to hear about my mission and feel led to donate. I don’t know, but God does!

This will be a learning experience, and I’m open and ready for it. That being said, if you’re in the Loganville area on Saturday between 10:00am and 3:00pm, stop by Bluesprings and come find me! For a taste of what I’ll be selling, here ya go:
