It’s a new year, and I am ready to jump all in to 2016! But first, let’s check out some things I learned in 2015, shall we? In no particular order, here it goes.

1) I am a terrible speller. Did you know carmel is actually spelled caramel? Me either. But it is on the recipe that way, so I am sticking with it. Speaking of carmels, I was able to raise right around 1000 dollars for my World Race fund! Thank you so much if you helped me wrap and package hundreds of carmels, or bought/received any!

2) I am horrible speller. Lesson learned: use spell check. Otherwise, you accidentally order 500 business cards saying that you are going to “Mayasia” which is not even a country. Malaysia, yes. Mayasia, no. I really have a spelling problem…

3) God is good all the time, all the time, God is good. When I was confused, and had no idea what to do next, God opened the doors for me to be a part of the World Race. Looking back I can see God working, and I can look ahead and know that He is about to do some pretty great things.

4) I have friends all over the country. From Georgia to California, Pennsylvania to Texas, Nebraska, Utah, Kentucky, Arkansas, Washington, North Carolina, and even here in Indiana, I have squad members that I am beginning to know and love. They are there for support, advice, laughs, and everything in between! I CAN NOT wait to get to know these amazing people more and to finally be able to meet them all at training camp in August.

5) There are so many generous people out there. I have been receiving donations from people I hardly know and from people without even approaching them for anything. It is so encouraging to know that people believe in me and what I am passionate about. Knowing that people believe in me enough to put their time, effort, or funds into my trip gives me the courage to pursue my goal with passion.

As great as 2015 was, I have no doubt that 2016 is going to be just as great if not better. I graduate from high school, get my cosmetology license, I turn 18 and legally become an adult, and oh yea, I get to travel the world for Jesus! It’s been a wonderful start to this journey; thanks for starting it with me! Subscribe to my blog and stick around to see what God is going to do next!

Until next time,

Sydney

PRAYER REQUESTS:

1) Please be praying for my family and I as we prepare for me to leave. Knowing through this holiday season that I won’t be home next year is hard. But I am confident that this is God’s will for me, and I know that the best place to be is in his will. No matter what time of year.

2) Patience, patience, patience, please pray that I will have patience! Senioritis is hitting hard with one semester left of high school, but I need to take it one day at a time, and enjoy high school while it lasts, yet still preparing for what lies ahead.
