When I was in my high school choir we sang so many different songs. Some of them, I can’t remember to save my life! But others seem to be stuck in my head on a routine basis. When I sat down to write this blog post, one such song immediately popped into my head. The key line that I remember is this:
“Who will be a witness for my Lord? My soul is a witness for my Lord!”
It is a song that is widely known, and has impacted a lot of people. And it is so, so true. We are witnesses.
As a Christian, my life is should point people back to Christ. My soul is a witness.
It doesn’t matter if I am in India, or Indiana. What I say and how I act should reflect Christ.
My goal is that my life will bring others to a relationship with the Lord, my Savior.
Maybe that means that I will be able to have a conversation with someone and tell them about Jesus. Or maybe that means that my actions will show that I am different, and my actions alone point to Christ. Maybe people who don’t understand why I would do something like the world race will begin to ask questions and seek answers, finding the Truth of Christ.
Maybe you, reading this blog post, don’t want anything to do with Christianity because of a bad experience you have had with the church. I hope that through my life I can show you what a true relationship with Christ looks like, what real church community is like, and I can show you that Jesus is greater than religion.
“My soul is a witness for my Lord.”
Day Eight: Being a Witness
Today please pray that my squad and I will be strong witnesses for Christ.
Pray for the people who will be impacted by our lives, that those who do not have a relationship with Christ will seek him, and those who do will be encouraged.
