Hello everyone,

I am excited to tell you about my upcoming adventure after graduating from Benilde-St. Margaret’s High School. If I haven’t had the opportunity to tell you yet in person, in August I will be leaving for a 9-month mission trip to three different countries. We will be living in each country for three months and serving alongside the local pastors and churches in those communities. The countries we will be visiting are Guatemala, Lesotho, and Cambodia – and I could not be more excited!

About three years ago, one of my Young Life leaders left on a yearlong mission trip around the world. I was very intrigued and inspired by the experiences that she had overseas. I’ve always loved helping others, and was moved by the stories that she shared while serving and loving some of the neediest groups around the world. Her stories and subsequent conversations about her experience would eventually lead me to the decision I made a couple months ago.

Although my senior year of high school has been filled with many fun memories and celebrations, it also has presented me with some pretty big decisions. Where will you go to college? What will you major in? What are the dreams you have for your life? As I’ve taken time to reflect and process these big decisions, I realized that my heart was set on going on this life-changing trip. I feel a calling that will take me off typical high school seniors’ trajectory. My goal is to strengthen my faith and knowledge, while helping families in their community with specific projects and teaching.

The organization is called Adventures in Missions, or AIM. AIM’s mission is to mobilize a generation of disciples, training them to teach and provide assistance to communities across the globe. The trip is called ‘World Race: Gap Year’ and is the missions program that they offer for my age group. In order to go on the trip, we need to fundraise $13,805. I know – that’s a lot of money. However, this will cover the cost of all of my flights, in-country travel, lodging, food, health insurance, etc. for the entire 9 months.

I am writing to ask if you would consider supporting me on this adventure. I am so excited but know that I can’t do it without the love and support and prayers from my family and friends back home. If you plan to contribute, here is how you can help:
