I know, I know, you want to hear about training camp. If you’ll bear with me I’ll get there, but first I want to tell you about one of the most spectacular sights I’ve ever seen. Sammie Leyse and I flew to and from Georgia for training camp together and it was on the way back that I experienced one of the coolest things I’ve seen. Now I was never one to listen in science class, especially not one to take notice in the way the sky worked, but on the flight home I took notice. On our way back the pilot came on to tell us that we were passing some unexpected storms and that if we would look out on the right side of the plane that we could see the storm. Well of course it just so happened that I was NOT on the right side, just my luck. I decided to look out of my side of the plane and there it was, one of the most interesting sights I’ve seen. Huge, puffy storm clouds (cumulonimbus?) and lightning. Usually when I see lightning it’s from ground view and of course it’s pretty amazing then, but boy oh boy was that lighting amazing. It struck every few seconds or so, lighting up all the clouds around it. There truly are no words that I can use to describe it to you other than extraordinary. I sat in awe watching the storm and I’m sure the guy next to me thought I was crazy, but it reminded me of God’s brilliance. The fact that something so simple could make me sit in awe at the creator of our universe humbled me. There truly is nothing that He can’t do. He put the lighting in the sky along with the stars and the sun. He made you and I in His image to marvel at these things. He delights in us. He knows the desires of our hearts. He cares. All of the lighting in the world could never compare to the joy that His love brings us.

Now that I’ve hit you with that, it’s time to hit you with a little something else. I am currently $3,280 away from the goal that I need to reach by August 22nd. As you all know, that’s a lot of money. If I don’t reach this goal I will not be able to launch with my squad in September. If you haven’t already, please, please, please prayerfully consider supporting me on this journey. I can’t do this alone and it’s your help that will get me there. Every dollar helps. Thanks for reading and following along!
All the love
