Leaving the Dominican was hard, but I am excited to say I’m back in Haiti. Haiti is the place where I fell in love with missions work in 2015, the only reason I chose to apply to this route on the World Race. Settling into a new place with a new routine has been hard but also good. We live in a little Pink house called the fish house and we’re working with an organization called Supply and Multiply. The kids surrounded the gates of the house we are living in from the moment we arrived and have been greeting us every time the gate opens. If you have an open hand you can almost guarantee that it will be grabbed ahold of at some point during the day. We get to work with the elderly and children in the community of Mont-rouis (pronounced mo-wi). So far we have helped to plan bible clubs, VBS type activities and do house visits in the mountains (an hour walk from our house!). We walk through the busy market place at least once a day to get to a nursing home called the Matthew 25 house. Every day we are doing something new, yesterday night we even went to a Haitian choir practice! It has been a busy first couple of days here in Haiti! Please pray for my team and I this month as many of us are struggling with different personal things.
