While being in Moldova I reflected on the year. The
places we have been, the things we have seen, and the people we have lived
with. The experience has been amazing! And my heart at this moment is
overflowing with love for the
contacts.
These people are amazing, and this goes out to them! =)
To let you in a little bit, all over the world, people do
this. They let complete strangers into their house, because they believe in our
heart and what we are doing. They serve us, when we thought we were coming to serve them. They prepare food for us, clean for us, provide a place to stay for us
and allow us to join their ministry. They plan events for us, they sit down
and talk with us. They take us places that they enjoy, for fun, they treat us. They
allow us into their lives. And most of all, they see the big picture.
While in Moldova
we stayed in two villages for about 10 days each. The first family we stayed
was a family of four. A husband (Lucheon), Wife (Svetta), and two little ones
(Madelina and Saudna) and from the beginning we felt at home. They invited us
right in and we sat down for a family dinner that night. During the time there
we worked together, laughed together, ate together, slept in the same
house,
helped around the house. Looking back it was almost like we weren’t doing
missions, it was like we were doing life. It was like living with family that I
have never met, and joining alongside them.
The second family was Husand (Stepon), wife (Vetta),
daughter, son and daughter-in-law. Also inviting us right into their house, and
they are so giving. The children usually end up moving rooms to accommodate for
us before we even arrive. We worked everyday with Stepon and his son. We helped
to dig the foundation for the fence going around the church. A project they
started a few months ago and when looking at it, a person stands in awe of how
far they have come with four people and the basic tools and some wood. The church
is made out of cement and looks amazing. They allowed us to partner with them
in helping build, something that is so special to them, that they have been
praying for God to provide for and now it is here.
Then we would come home and Vetta would have dinner
prepared. She would sit down and talk about the day, practice her English, and
joke around with us. She would say that while we are in her house, she is our
mother and would take care of us. Once again feeling like we are part of the
family that we have never met.
These families are amazing. They did so much for us.
They took us in.
The backpackers with no home and gave us a place to stay.
And then they went beyond, the invited, for
the short time, to join their
family.
Vetta would always talk about the big picture. How we are
all children on God, how we all are one big family. And now I can look back and
say that I have experienced that, I have seen the big family. How we work
together, how we are there for one another. It is beautiful.
So this is a thank you to them, all of them around the
world.
May the family continue
to grow.
Live in the love.
