I have found something at the International House of Prayer
(IHOP) that took my breath away, and it was the flags.

Surprising? I
thought so too.

Before I thought of flags to be cheesy, and not going to lie
I thought it was funny. I couldn’t take them seriously. But that changed while being here, my perspective changed.

There is a woman who dances with the flags, a few women and
some men. Well really at some point I am sure everyone has picked them up.

Anyways, this specific woman, she danced with them with such
a grace and beauty. There was just something
different
about it. When you watched her dance it was like I was taken to another place. I was
seeing what she was seeing. I was feeling what she was feeling. She wasn’t
putting on a show, she wasn’t doing it for us, she wouldn’t even have her eyes
open most of the time. She was doing it for
the God she loves
, she was doing it from
her place of worship
, and it was one of the most beautiful things I have
ever seen.

She used the flags as an
expression
. Each flag has a different meaning: love, grace, peace, hope,
strength, etc. She used them to worship
and she used them for intercession.
When we were praying for places their flag would be on the floor and she would
dance over them. It was so powerful.

She danced with the flags with such a grace but there is also this fight
that shows. The whipping of the flag and the sound it makes. It sends chills through you. It is not
something that makes you want to run, it is something that makes you want to join. This calls you to unite alongside with what they are fighting for.

When she is worshipping, surrounded
by the colors, she is spinning and whipping the flag, fast and slow, gentle but still so bold. The power
in it
, the love in it, the joy in it, she shows it all. Sometimes is
it like she is in a whirlwind, simply
enjoying the love that is surrounding her.

She is lost in the
love
of the father. She is surrounded by something that my heart
yearns for. When watching something like that I sit in awe. When you see past the flag and the person and
see what is being displayed it is beautiful, it is breathtaking. It is so pure and so bold.

May I continue to see more of God’s presence in the things
around me and the people I am surrounded by.

May I continue to see God’s heart displayed before me.
