I'm back from the great city of Seattle, where God used family, friends, and His beautiful Creation to encourage me greatly, edify me, and allow my spirit to rest for a few days and be rejuvenated to continue on this long and weary, but very beautiful process of getting ready to uproot my life and "head for the hills" (of Georgia, that is). I was able to spend time at many "outdoors" stores in the Northwest, such as REI, where I priced a lot of the gear I'll need for training camp and the actual Race.

Friends, it ain't cheap! Ha.

But God is reminding me that He will meet my every need, and I'm so excited to announce that I've passed my goal of $3,500 to be able to go to training camp! I've almost made it to $4,000, and it's only because of the Lord working through you all, prompting you to be generous and give. THANK YOU!!

As I was reading in the Word this morning, I noticed how Paul expresses his sincere gratitude to the Church of Philippi, the only church that initially partnered with him, supporting his mission to travel and spread the gospel. Paul says this:

"you sent me help for my needs once and again. not that i seek the gift itself, but i seek the FRUIT that increases to your credit. i have received full support and more–i am well supplied…and my God will supply every need of yours too!"

This reminds me so much of YOU, and how many of you have already met my needs. even still, I feel encouraged to ask BOLDLY of you today for more that i need: $125 for a big pack, $100 for a one-person tent, and $75 for a sleeping mat ($300 total). If you were considering giving a one-time gift anyway, now is the time! if you want to contribute to this specific gear, your check can be made out to "suzy hachey" this time, or if you have any of these supplies that you just want to donate/lend me for the year, i'd love it, and promise to take good care of them! my goal is to have all of these things by the end of September, as i'll be taking off to training camp mid-October and will need them as i "rough it" in the mountains of Georgia. 🙂

bless you all, and thank you for being the kind of people i know i can ask boldly of.
