Where do I even begin? From the first moments we drove on property of the orphanage I have felt such love and joy. Being welcomed by 200 smiling faces was pretty awesome!! These beautiful children are so eager to learn and full of life! Madhava and his family are truly an amazing giving family. They know each child and thier story and they love each child as their own. It’s a honor to work along side them.
Our days we wake up to hearing the rooster crow around 6am. The children are already up doing thier chores, washing their clothes, or the girls are helping each other braid their hair. The minute we walk outside all we hear is goodmorning goodmorning! They get so excited to see us. We kinda feel like celebrites. Everything we do is being watched. After they eat their breakfast we usually just play games with, sing songs, learn dances. We even taught them the cupid shuffle, which is probably their favorite thing in the whole wide world. Some of the little girls even teaching us some of the traditional dances which of course we have yet to conquer but I know we will!!
We are starting to teach different classes to them like english, crafts, music and math. So the next couple of weeks that will take up most of our time. The other day we took them to the beach which was amazing! All the children were so excited to play in the water. Even though we had to watch about 150 kids in the ocean it was also quite relaxing for us too. Even though pretty much wherever we go there’s always a audience watching our every move. We had lunch on the beach which of course was rice but this time it was yellow rice!!! On the way home most of the kids were passed out and so where we.
When we do have free days we spend it either watching movies, or playing card games or listening to music and enjoying spending time together as a team. We started to venture out and walk about 30 minutes to the nearest supermarket to stock up on snacks and ice cream!! We hand our wash our clothes and hang them to dry. So we are doing great can’t believe we’ve been here for almost three weeks here. Thanks for your prayers and support. Love you all!!!
