So, Malaysia is not what I was expecting at all. To be honest there was not much I knew about this nation before I got here. I knew it was islands and probably beautiful, that some come to vacation here, and I thought as a nation most were Muslim. Well, my picture was so limited I knew there would be more yet I did not expect it to be anything like what I see now.
This is a beautiful nation and I have encountered some lovely people. Though this nation is peaceful on the surface there is much battling going on. What hit me the most was the strong representation of not one, but three major religions. As we walked the city and prayed there were many alters I recognized to be Buddhist. As we drove to different locations to do ministry we encountered many alters representing the Hindu religion. Then heading to the mall to get stuff done, such as posting a blog, many beautiful women with their delicate and pretty head dresses are all around. Most of the buddhists are Chinese, most of the hindu are Indians, and most of the muslim are Malay. Though it seems the people have decided to simply co exist, the spirits with the religions are not so gracious. I felt a heaviness here as soon as we got here. There is an oppression here that has become normal so it is under the radar for most. Malaysia is a beautiful nation with good people and they can have freedom… please pray and fast if you are willing to help break the spiritual oppression here. I am seeing it begin and my prayer is that it will be lifted soon.

We have had some opportunity to work with the youth here. There ages ranging from 12-25. God is calling the youth of this nation to help bring freedom through love. So, pray for the youth the we have had the opportunity to speak life into. Today is our final day in the area of SP and in the morning we will be heading a bit more south to BM (close to Penang). Last night we ran a youth meeting for a few groups together. We worshipped God in both english and malay (or maybe Tamil?) with the youth band, then my teammate Sarah spoke on having faith and boldness. Most responding to wanting to be bold for God and so we went around and prayed over them. It might not sound like much in writing but it was powerful and the Spirit of God was moving throughout these young people and anointing them to do much good for this nation and beyond! I am sad to leave and not see them again but I leave them in much more capable hands then mine. Again I ask, please pray with me, and if you are willing fast, for Freedom to come to this nation and for the young people we met to rise up and be bold for God!
