This past week we worked with New Life Mission Church in
Namanjalala, Kitale, Kenya. I know that is a mouthful but all you need to know
is that the people there are amazing. We spent one day doing some landscaping
with them. We planted flowers and each got to plant a tree. I love the idea of
adding life through God’s creation. It was a good day. My prayer is the flowers
will grow and bring beauty and the trees will grow to bring shade and oxygen to
all living things around them!

The following 2 days we got in teams with some of the church
members to visit people and offer love and prayer. We walked on uneven roads,
rubbed up against cornstalks, jumped over muddy waters, and passed many
chickens, goats, cows, and bulls along the way. Both days we easily walked 6
kilometers or more. All of that was worth it to get to pray for healing in many
lives, for peace in their homes, and for daily needs. Whether you believe
prayer works or not what we did was encouraging and brought hope to people and
that is good in itself. Though I believe prayer is powerful and we brought
healing & peace to many this week.

We also went to all the homes of the members of my prayer
team. The only other female, Beatrice, asked me to pray for her sons. They have
motorcycles and use them to give people rides (like a taxi for fewer people).
That is a common way to travel here. Unfortunately thugs had hired her sons. If
you didn’t know, thugs are the bad guys. The thugs did their thing and fled
leaving Beatrice’s sons to take the fall. So they were in jail and we prayed
for there release. I specifically asked God to let there innocence be shown and
that they would not spend one more night in jail. The next day as we drove to
the church I felt God telling me the boys were free. I was excited to ask and
Beatrice told me they were released that evening! They did not spend one more
night in jail! Praise the Lord!!

Today is Sunday and so we went to New Life Mission this
morning. My teammates taught a variety of Sunday school classes and I ended up
preaching the sermon. We also sang a few worship songs. I attempted to prepare
ahead of time n prayer and reading but my mind would not land on one thing. So
we got there this morning and I still wasn’t sure what I was suppose to speak
on. I prayed and trusted that the Holy Spirit would speak through me. Then I
opened my bible and read and asked God which text was meant to be shard in
about 20 minutes. He took me to 2 Corinthians 3 & 4. So, this morning we
talked about freedom in Christ and how that impacts our lives. One way is that
we are being transformed into His likeness! How exciting to become more like
Jesus and in that become who we were always meant to be! The service was
powerful and it was a blessing to worship with our brothers and sisters here in
Kenya. I love having family all around the world!

They would like to send greetings to America, so consider
yourself greeted by a dynamic & loving group of Kenyans. Please pray for
them that they will always have what they need as well as peace in there lovely
yet humble lives.

Please also pray for my team and me: That we will be healthy
and not get malaria or other sicknesses. That all of us will be fully supported
by the deadline of July 1st! (I still need $5000 to come in). And
that we will do well to serve many here in Kitale, Kenya!
