So it has been a bit of a whirlwind lately…

I got so invested in the Philippines that my heart did not want to leave. I trust that God will take care of my new friends and all that He began while we were there. Even so it was hard to leave. As I was trying to process leaving we had a squad meeting and many changes were made, including my team.

I am now on a team of 7 rather than 6, with all girls, and with no one from my former team. So, saying goodbye to the Philippines was hard enough and then I needed to say good bye to my teammates. Much crying and praying was done and God let me know He is big enough to take care of everyone I love, everyone I had to leave, my teammates I will now only see on travel days, and my new team.

So, I want to introduce you to my new team… we are still trying to chose a name, so if you get inspired on that please let me know…

My team Leader is Tanna. She is adventurous and strong. She is proving to be a good leader who reaches out to us and wants to see us grow and be included. She is from Texas and was a strength coach so she could kick any of our a** so I want to stay on her good side ;). Tanna is great and I am so excited to get to know her more.

Emily C was on Tanna’s former team and I am so blessed she is on my team now. She is sweet and generous. I see a gentle spirit in her which I pray will rub off on me. She is from Georgia and speaks with a soft southern accent. She has a way with people that somehow she finds great opportunities or useful information. It might be that she just asks, but she definitely has something special.

These next 4 ladies were on a team together and now I get the pleasure of serving alongside them:

Sarah S. is a free spirit and has only been a Christian for about 11 months. Her joy is evident and sometimes explodes out of her. She highly appreciates pirates and goofy pictures. So, Sarah is bringing joy and fun to our team. Don’t be fooled, she is much more than that. She is an Italian Philly native that somehow ended up in South Carolina. She has a great passion for life and the Lord. It seems she loves fiercely and will be loyal to those she loves. Looking forward to getting to know her more and take lots of fun pictures with her.

Ashley is very tech savvy and the whole squad runs to her to ask about making movies or taking cool pictures. That is great about Ash but what I’m enjoying about her is the way she views the world. She has a unique perspective and is helping us look at the things around us with wider eyes. I can see there is so much more to her than great media skills. It’s going to be a blast digging in and finding out more about Ashley. She is from Florida in case you were wondering.

Jess is also from California, specifically from Poway in San Diego. She happens to be the baby of the squad at age 21. She has a beautiful voice and loves to sing. It will be fun to serve along side her as this race is turning out to be different than what she was expecting. I believe she is a lovely daughter of the King, not sure she fully realizes that so I look forward to helping her discover that.

Last, but not least, is Alycia. Her story is amazing and she has mega strength within her. You might think she is crazy doing this since she is a nutritionist that is allergic to almost everything. But she is exactly where she is supposed to be. She is such a servant and has blessed our team so much already. I see her doing small things here and there, like taking out the trash, which makes our lives easier. She puts up with everyone else asking food & health questions with grace. I can see God will use her to bring healing to many throughout this year. How cool that I will get to see that alongside Alycia as I get to know and learn from this powerful sister.

I am already starting to love each of these women deeply. Pray that we will have unity and true community with one another. We have been in Malaysia for about a week now and we are starting to come together as a team. Pray that we reach many of the people of Malaysia and bring them love, freedom, healing, & light.

Radom tidbit: We still need a name. So, the famous towers in Kuala Lumpur are the “Petronas Towers”. We get to were we are, which is Sungai Petani, there are gas stations called “Petronas”. That makes me think of HP(you’ll only truly appreciate this if you already know what I am talking about) and the charm that protects from the darkness. I threw out there as a possible team name and gave a pretty good argument for it but in the end it got vetoed. We want the name God has for us and it is not likely that it would be from JK Rowling 😉

More to come about Malaysia in the next blog!
