What do you chose?
That is a question I have had to ask myself this month. Since we are in a place similar to home it is easy to slip into living how I was living.. just going about my business, doing my own thing.. going to work, taking naps, going to the store, maybe reading or watching tv a bit, checking email, and chatting with others around me… any of this sounding familiar to you?
The kicker is.. we can chose, we have always been able to chose! So, being in Australia has been teaching me that I need to make a choice, everyday, to live how I want to live. Though what I really want is live how God wants me to live. That means I need to chose Him, listen to what He tells me, laugh with Him, cry with Him, offer what I have to give each day,& go to His house! I already am a part of the Kingdom of God so why would I waste time in my own little world? Not sure I can answer that but I am learning that when I make this choice my day is so much better, and as I make it normal in my life it will be amazing. God is a God who does not just sit around at the castle, He gets out and creates, gives life, brings love, offers peace, brings freedom, offers to carry your burdens, feeds you, protect us, jokes around, has fun, will go deep with you, will allow you to join in all He is doing! That is the choice I am going to make, learn to make normal, to walk around with God all the time taking part in what He has to offer and pouring out into others as He does!! What an amazing ride it will be.. no more just sitting around in the castle!!! Anyone want to join me??? He invites us all!!!
So, last week we had a “day off” and 4 of us chose to go to the Koala Sanctuary. I chose this because Koalas were my favorite animal when I was a kid. God is my Daddy and I know He would find joy in taking me to see His cute creations. I felt like a little girl again and I could have stayed and watch the Koalas all day (and longer if they’d let me!). But I did also feed Kangaroos and saw lots of other great animals, reptiles, and birds. I chose to not miss out on everything to focus on my favorite thing. I also chose to say goodbye to my cute new friends to follow God wherever else He wants to take me!
I made a short video from my time there and it is all Koalas! When most think of a Koala (not bear) they think of a grey fuzzy thing lounging around sleeping & eating. That is not too far off, but the day I went some Koalas chose to do more!! Enjoy the video!
