Grab your togs, jandles, and towel during break…

Huh? What does that mean? Well, if you are a Kiwi than it makes perfect sense. Translation for all you non-kiwis: Grab your bathing suit, flip flops, and towel…

I am spending the night in the Auckland Airport as the rest of my squad trickles in to fly to Australia at 7 am.  My team will be staying in Brisbane doing all sorts of things starting tomorrow, but more on that once I’m there, let’s take a look back at this past week or so.

We moved down south a bit more to Waikanae, which is about an hour or so north of Wellington. We went to a camp called El Rancho, set up our tents, and began to set up for New Wine. New Wine is a conference for the whole family.

I ended up working with “Cutting Edge” which is the 11-13 yr olds. It was cool since that is the age I was working with back at home. We broke up into teams and my team became the Space Ninja Orangutans (we had a space theme). We did tons of games, including water ones hence the title of this blog. Can you believe they call swimsuits “togs”? Or flip flops “Jandles”? Those crazy Kiwis! They also like to say “heaps” and “sweet as”.  I did get a chance to eat kiwi fruit but no luck seeing the nocturnal flightless bird

Well, that stuff is fun but the really cool thing was the way God showed up in Cutting Edge! On like the first night the students starting comforting one another. The second night a handful of students gave their life to Christ!! And the following night we asked the Holy Spirit to come and so he (or maybe she) came!

One of the most beautiful examples of the Kingdom of God was one of the nights after I prayed over a young girl, I looked up to see 5 or 6 11-13 yr. old guys laying hands on one of their piers.  No leader, just them ministering and loving on each other. The following night I got to see them praying together, crying together, and being filled up by the Spirit of God. Please pray that the work God did for these students this week will burn into their hearts and minds. That they will continue to grow and be a big part of God’s story in there own families and New Zealand towns.

My camera battery died so I didn’t get many pictures of this past week. Getting new batteries I hope to get my second video started, though that will be in Australia. Thanks for reading and please pray for me & my team.

Special Request: My squad mate, Denise, can’t find her passport. It might have been stolen or just misplaced. Please pray it is found or replaced quickly. Her husband, Scott, and her will stay a couple extra days in New Zealand to sort it out. Thanks.
