I just bought my house for the next year! And one of the best things about it? It's about five pounds, so I can carry it in my own hands. Or on my back, more likely.
Big thanks to Jonathan, Eli, Nate, and Nat for all of the advice about which gear would be best- as a first timer, I would have been pretty lost without y'all. Also, all of my new friends at the REI in Columbus, OH that I spent four hours with- you all are the best! Huge shout out as well to Meredith for GIVING me her Africa backpack to use on the Race- she has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know.
As of today, I'll be spending a week of Training Camp with my teammates just two hours northwest of Atlanta, GA. I am very excited to meet my squad for the first time and to begin serious preparation for The World Race. Rumor has it that we will be camping the entire time- hence the "camp" part of training camp. 😉
Please be in prayer for my team as we spend this week together in training and preparation. Pray God will be present in everything we do, and will be the center of our relationships. These are the people who I will spending the next year with, so as you can imagine- I am very excited to meet them. Pray for our leaders and staff as well, for wisdom and guidance as they lead us.
