Hello friends!
I’d like to share something that the Lord has put on my heart as I get closer to my launch in January:
A long long time ago, in a galaxy exactly the same as ours, a woman was coming home from a very long day at work. She was tired and it was raining, so she naturally decided to take the bus. The bus started to fill up, so the driver came back and asked her and 3 other people around her to move to the back of the bus. The 3 people complied. The woman did not. He told her again. She said “Nah.” The driver called the police and the woman was arrested.
It was December 1st, 1955 and the woman was Rosa Parks.
Her refusal to move and subsequent arrest sparked a chain of events that changed the United States forever. The Civil Rights movement was already moving, and Rosa had already been an activist for a little over ten years. So why is she most remembered for refusing to give up her seat?
Because she simply took a stand.
She said “Nah” and held her ground.
One person took a stand (or seat, technically) and triggered a revolution.
The country has never been the same.
The Lord brought this story to my mind, and then over the last couple months has tied it in with spiritual warfare. My team and I are leaving in less than 2 months to do missions and see revival in our nation. A revival like we’ve never seen before.
And there will be so much spiritual opposition y’all. So. Much. The enemy hates what we’re doing. He wants us to step back and let him have his way. The enemy doesn’t want a fight. But y’all, he’s sure gonna get one.
And I feel like the Lord is saying to me for this next year on World Race America is that all we have to do is look the enemy in the face, stand our ground and say:
“Nah.”
Nah, you don’t get to do in this nation what you’ve been doing anymore.
It takes one person to create a ripple effect, there’s 7 of us on my team, and hundreds of thousands of others praying for the same thing we are: Revival.
We want to see the hungry fed, the blind see, the lame walk, the oppressed freed, chains broken, hearts healed, and Jesus move. And we all want to see the devil get punched in the face by the Almighty God. (Ok, maybe I want to the devil get round-housed kicked in the nuggets by Jesus, but secretly y’all do to so whatever)
I keep getting the feeling from the Lord that we are going to do battle a little differently. We’re not going to have to know how to take care of the practical things exactly right.
For example, I do not know the logistics of helping someone overcome drug addiction. I don’t know that process, I don’t know how to counsel there, I don’t know what medical things need to be looked into, and I can’t pay for rehab for someone.
But I know how pray. I know how to speak life. I know how to stand with someone in the Spirit. I know how powerful my God is.
And I know how to say “Nah.”
My team, the Blazetrailers, we say “Nah” to oppression.
We say “Nah” to addiction.
We say “Nah” to guilt and shame.
We say “Nah” to brokenness and hopelessness, and then.
Then we stand our ground.
And I need you to stand with us in prayer. My team and I know how to say “Nah” for sure. We know it. That’s basically the easy part. And I believe the Lord is teaching us how to stand firm(er). Saying “nah” is cute and all, but if we don’t hold our ground it means nothing.
Rosa Parks said “Nah”, didn’t move, and the nation saw a revolution.
We need to be a people of God who say “Nah”, stand firm in the Lord, and we will see a revival.
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.” (Ephesians 6:10-20, NIV)
The devil lies, but we need to stand.
He pushes and pulls, and we need to stay standing.
He throws everything he can at us, takes from us, bleeds us dry, breaks our hearts, makes us weep, and still.
We need to keep standing.
We need to not grow passive and settle when something is hard to overcome. We need to say “Nah” to that hot nonsense attitude right now.
Example: “Well, addiction is hard to overcome, so let’s settle for managing it. It’s ok if I’m never fully free from it, as long as it doesn’t hold me back too much.”
NAH. You punch addiction in the teeth as hard as you can everyday. Some days that punch will knock it down, and some days it’ll barely make an impact. But you keep punching. Stand your ground, and punch it again and again until it stays down and withers into nothingness.
Never settle for managing a situation Jesus died for you to overcome.
We need to keep encouraging, building up, speaking life, and showing Jesus’ love in America.
We need to keep speaking against addiction, depression, oppression, anxiety.
We need to bring hope and freedom back to the hopeless and broken.
We need revival.
Please. If you have not committed to praying for me and my team for the next year, I want to ask that you do now. Even if it’s just 5 minutes once a week, we need you.
We need you saying “Nah” and taking your stand too. Let’s see revival together.
