A few weeks ago, I went to get my passport, a rather necessary item. First, you should know that my previous passport was lost, so it wasn't just filling out the paperwork to apply. I had to fill out the Lost or Stolen Passport form and file that, too. No big deal…
Except I work when the passport offices are open and calling in "late" is easier said than done.
I made a plan. A doctor's appointment early in the day, followed by a trip to the Post Office and I could justify to myself taking a day off. Passport hours were 9-3; all was falling into place… Until I got there. Two Post Offices later, application STILL not turned in and I'm facing taking another day off to get this passport taken care of. So I start researching (again) passport offices and hours, all the while praying for one that is open late on day or on Saturday. Success!! I found an office that was open some evenings, including the one that was approaching! I got there an hour early and everything went smoothly… Or so I thought until I got the letter in the mail yesterday requesting the Lost and Stolen Passport form I thought I'd already filled out…
Next obstacle: shots. Same fiasco-type, run around in circles craziness! It's finally worked out, but there was an entertaining amount of juggling happening for a while.
Everytime I try to get something done to prepare for the Race, the littlest things become whirlwinds of activity and hurdles. Something that seems like it should be easy turns into a production.
And the questions start (I've put them in second person cause I know I'm not alone in asking):
How do you know when you are truly following God's will for your life? When you have found the proper path? When you are doing things right?
I'm learning that it is really easy to know the answer to these: when all hell breaks loose, you're on the right track.
