Hey, all!!

The following post is brought to you by Team VESSELS!!

You know you’re in Cambodia when…

  1. Clothing is optional for anyone under 5… Everyone else, long shorts and sleeves, please!
  2. You get change in (and pay for things) in both USD and Riel.
  3. To cross the street, you wait for a gap in traffic and go (pause occasionally to keep from being run over; motorbikes and tuk tuks won’t necessarily stop).  Think frogger.
  4. Tree trimming is done by a guy climbing the tree with a machete.
  5. You feel like a rock star walking down the street because most people smile, give high fives or hugs, wave, and say hi because they “love Europeans!!”
  6. You need to know the name of where you are going and/or how to give directions to get there; street addresses are not enough!!
  7. Dessert consists of a variety of fruit that may or may not be able to be translated to English.
  8. Best practice to eat is with your spoon (also true in other Asian countries).
  9. Everyone argues over the honor of doing the dishes.
  10. Whenever you feel the need to honk your car horn go for it! No logical reason necessary.
  11. Your ministry changes 3 times in the first 4 days of being there… Oh, wait… That one is because it’s the World Race! It’s the World Ra-ace!!

That's all for now!!

Until next time!!
