Things on the Race rarely go as planned. I had originally hoped to make a short vlog every day for the month of January. This post actually was supposed to be a vlog. I made a great video, spent time editing it, but have not been able to upload it to YouTube to post on here. I would say that I was frustrated about not being able to have this video uploaded, but that is only part of the story.
Uploading videos to YouTube is a lot harder now because our team moved to a new location in our city, a location that has been the answer to many prayers, a location that has everything we wanted in a home for the month–except strong WiFi.
Oh, and did I mention that the Lord provided this for FREE?
True story.
The home where we are now living only has WiFi in one room, and even in the one room, the WiFi only works in certain spots. There are plenty of cafes near by where I could walk to and get WiFi, but there are a few drawbacks to that as well:
1.) Cafes (especially in a semi-touristy area) require the purchase of an item to be able to use WiFi.
2.) Cafes tend to be above World Race food budget. I cannot afford to go to a cafe everyday.
Vlogging every day was also un-realistic, as it put a lot of unnecessary pressure on myself and took my focus away from the ministries in front of me. Vlogging is a great ministry opportunity, but I did not want my entire month of ATL to be a month of vlogging. I am still aiming for one, maybe two vlogs per week. There are also a few blogs that I want to write, and the whole vlogging process, daily, would take away time from writing those blogs.
Vlogging, you were great, but we need our space. I’ll see you again next week.
