Dear Friends and Family, 1/29/12
Have you ever heard God’s calling to do something greater than you thought humanly possible? Have you ever heard the saying, “God equips the called, not calls the equipped”, and wondered just how that might work?
I am writing this letter to tell you about an amazing adventure that I plan on embarking on this July 2012. It is called The World Race. You may ask why anyone would want to go and do a crazy thing like leave the comforts of their home, family, and friends in exchange for living out of a tent, showers few and far between, and rice-only meals. Well here is my answer: Adventure? Yes! Traveling abroad? Yes! God? Yes! Yes! How could I not go?
What is this crazy World Race you are talking about, Susan? It is a trip around the world, 11 countries in 11 months to be exact. I will be on the July 3 route that goes to Ireland, the Ukraine, Russia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, India, Nepal, Cambodia, Malaysia, and one mystery Asian country yet to be decided (please Vietnam!). I’m not quite exactly sure what to expect yet, but I am wholeheartedly excited! I have been told we will be doing, but not limited to, the following things: working in orphanages; doing street, bar, and door-to-door ministries; working with victims of human and sex trafficking; visiting hospitals and the sick; and teaching English.
I am writing you this letter to plead for your help!
1. Most of all, please pray for me and my team between July 2012 and May 2013. Go to your churches, Sunday school classes, and Bible study groups, and put my name on your prayer lists! I need everyone’s prayers ever so much!

3. Monetary support is appreciated, but definitely optional. I will be mostly self-funding my trip, but every little bit counts.
