“Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”

The last week we have been working on building a campground in Guatemala for kids and adults in the area to learn more about Christ. Pastor Arnold, the man we have been working with the last two weeks, had a vision to build a campground for the children and adults in the area and has been working diligently to achieve this vision God has given him.  When we arrived to do ministry with Pastor Arnold he told us that he had a vision that Americans and Japanese people would come to volunteer with him, and he told us we were fulfilling his vision!  He is sowing generously and I know this place will sow into so many hearts in Guatemala to know more about JesusCristo!

This week we worked with another amazing team from our squad to perform rigorous manual labor.  We felt like we were training for the crossfit games with carrying 100 lb posts through mud sinking up to our ankles, lugging bags of stones, chopping down trees with axes, using a machete, and using a sledge hammer to break rocks in half!  We got to learn how to love one another well through words of affirmation, encouragement, and praying for one another.  We were in a spot we had to fully rely on God’s strength due to exhaustion. It was a good two weeks of learning how to work as a team and to trust God fully.

My ideal ministry is to build relationships to share Christ with them.  We were not able to do that this month. However, God revealed to me that even though we may not see the fruits of our labor, God is going to use this place to teach so many children and adults about His love and sacrifice in the future!

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for continual encouragement for Pastor Arnold in this endeavor to build the campground as it will be a long process and journey.  However, I know this place will reap generously!  So many will come to know Christ through this place.
  • Pray for volunteers in the community to serve here to be able to complete this project as it will take probably another year or two.
  • Pray for the hearts and souls of the people who will eventually be at this campground to learn more about Jesus Christ when they come here.
  • Safe travels. We head to Nicaragua Monday morning for a 27 + hour bus ride.  We will be only with our team this month- 6 girls! J Pray for bonding time and continual growth for everyone on my team.
