They said, “Rabbi” (which means teacher), “where are you staying?”
“Come,” he replied, “and you will see.” So they went and saw where he was staying and spent that day with him.

John 1:38-39

The bible study I am apart of is diving deep into learning the background of the book of John, the purpose as to why it was written, and how it can be applied to our lives today.

While reading this verse, God revealed to me the faith Christ’s first disciples had.  Despite Christ not being the savior they had imagined, when they saw Christ for the first time, they believed He was who John the Baptist said He was, the Son of God.

John the Baptist told his disciples, “Look, the Lamb of God!” The disciples immediately believed and followed Christ because they desired that time with Him.  Not only did they stop what they were doing and follow Him, they spent the whole day with Christ.

I know it is a struggle for me just to burden myself with business.  Sometimes, I don’t spend any quality time alone with God until the end of the day because I just busy myself.  These disciples believed immediately and spent the whole day with him.

Another cool thing, they didn’t ask any questions.  Now, I do not think it is bad to ask questions; it is good. However, when it comes to belief, sometimes we just need to follow and know that He will provide the answers along the way.

Nathanael, later on in John, believed because Christ claimed that he saw him under a fig tree previously when Christ wasn’t there.  Jesus responded, “You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree.  You shall see greater things than that.”

Christ will show us greater things if we just follow the path that He has called us on.  These past two months, Christ has shown me so many incredible things, but I am excited to see even greater things

What is God calling you to do?  He will show you greater things if you follow Him!
