We have officially begun our time in our second country, Guyana, so let me catch you up with a little recap of month one! The team, the fun, the adventures, and the life long memories.
My team, Sweet Heat! We are loving growing together and learning how to trust God for daily guidance. We are also learning how to love each other and discovering new joy everyday in the little things we get to do!
In Palenque we got to meet Elezir and his family, and I got to pray for God’s guidance and provision over his life as he also seeks to join in God’s mission to redeem the world.
Field day with the children of Palenque!
Here is my team on the Island of Tierra Bomba! We got to work alongside Pedro and his ministry, Amigos Del Mar, doing workshops with local kids and helping them practice paddle boarding…by far my favorite days of ministry yet!
My teammate, Vandella, and I attempting to get a paddleboard picture…
Finally got it!
Painting workshop with the kids on Tierra Bomba.
My team with team Redeem and our squad leader, Jeremy, in La Boquilla. We helped out a local church in doing door to door evangelism, praying for the people, and getting the word out about the church services.
For a few hours one day in Cartagena, we got to spread awareness of sex-trafficking victims in Colombia and spread the hope and love that Jesus offers to them!
Here are some of my favorite things we came across in Cartagena…
The harbor quickly became one of my favorite spots to run to and have my devotions. It reminded me a lot of PBA and made me feel right at home.
We found a Boba Tea place along the harbor, and my face pretty much says it all. I would probably spend the majority of my money here if I lived in Cartagena. Not to mention the owners became quick friends who we loved getting to know and support.
Mi Llave Hostel, where my squad spent about 2 weeks for debrief and some down time before heading to Guyana!
It’s been an amazing time so far, and I really can’t imagine my life any other way. I’ve loved every part of this journey and I’m excited that it’s just the beginning.
I’m only $1,123 from reaching my next fundraising goal, and we have just over a week to reach it! If we raise just $140 a day, we will make it! Go to my website, www.susanbealor.theworldrace.org, by September 28 and join my support team! God has already been doing such amazing things, but there is still 9 months left for him to do even more!
For Christ and his kingdom, may the adventures and good times keep coming!
