MY CURRENT REALITY

Imagine:

The first day of elementary, middle and high school.

Braces, glasses and a bowl cut all at the young age of 10.

Staying home alone for the first time.

The freedom of turning 16 and the rubber hitting the road.

Freshman orientation at The University of Tennessee. (VFL)

Graduating from college and successfully landing your first “adult” job.

Paying your first of endless bills with the substansial amount of “green” you’re making.

Quitting your first job to attend graduate school to become a teacher.

The first day in your own classroom with 24 rugrats that are as petrified as you.

Leaving a job you love, to follow the calling on your life. (The World Race)

The World Race: More Than A Mission Trip (Released June 25, 2014)

I literally feel as if I’m experiencing a new rollercoaster ride for the first time…

-the excitement of running the stairs to reach the line

-the anticipation of waiting and watching

-the fear as I step into the seat and pull back the restraint

-the anxiousness of the start putton being pushed

-the 90 seconds of compete thrill

-the extreme joy of the ride completion

-the thankfulness that my feet are once again land

I can only imagine what the next 11 months has in store… His beauty, splendor, and glory have no measure.

The past week has been and continues to be a rollercoaster of emotion. I am UNCOMFORTABLE. I have been SO busy with tedious last minute tasks, that I honestly have been lackluster in my time spent in the word. With that being said, I know that The Lord is in control and that he is honoring my complete submission in him.

He reminded me of his faithfulness on Sunday, as I heard these verses 3 times:

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

16 Rejoice always;

17 pray without ceasing;

18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

4 days before I’m in Atlanta, 8 days before we depart for Nepal. I will REJOICE, PRAY and GIVE THANKS in every situation. God’s will is ALIVE in me!

I am excited about living in community with the 43 members of “G” Squad for the next 11 months.
