I’m coming for ya World Race!

What an incredible adventure that God is preparing me for and I could not be more excited to share this experience with all of you! For those who are not familiar with the World Race – I’m going to break it down in bullet points because I tend to ramble.

What is the The World Race?

    An 11 month Christian mission trip in 11 different countries in which I’ll be spreading the Word and participating in different missions around the world. I have picked out Route 2 of August 2016 – (1) Lesotho (2) Swaziland (3) South Africa (4) Vietnam (5) Cambodia (6) Thailand (7) Nicaragua (8) Costa Rica (9) Jamaica (10) Haiti (11) Dominican Republic.

Why?

  I feel called to;
– Bring glory to God, to put it simply. Jesus continuously saves me and all I can hope for is to shine the light on His endless love and mercy.
– Live selflessly- because helping others makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I realize that I will grow through this trip and it will benefit me personally, but the race isn’t about me. The WR gives me a chance to live and think beyond myself.
– ADVENTURE. I cannot wait to immerse myself into new cultures. I think seeing the world through others eyes will help open my own.

How’d I get Here?

 I have been thinking about how amazing it would be to do the WR for the past year or so. I’ve followed other people through their WR journey and I have looked up to them so much. Little did I know God was using them to nudge me closer towards Him (shoutout to AT, Jack, and Daniel). One day I was talking to a friend and she asked, “When you lie in bed at night, what do you dream about doing?” The first thing that came to mind was The World Race. Through prayer and the support of my bomb.com friends and family, I sat down that next day and applied.

I want to be real – I do realize that every moment on this journey will not be glorious and insta worthy. I know I’ll face fear, doubt, and will miss my friends and family. There will without a doubt be hard times, but those are the times where God will be working the most. I have complete faith that the struggles I face can be tackled by having the right attitude and remembering the bigger picture. I can do this through strength that is NOT my own.

 Calling all PALS, FAMILY AND STRANGERS –

    Now that you know the deats, I’m inviting all of you to come along with me on my adventure and to experience every step with me. There will be planning, praying, training, fundraising, and lots in between.  So, let’s start racing, shall we?
