Pick a day, any day – between August 2016 and May 2017 that is.
It is so mind-blowingly awesome to think that it’s 2016 and this is the year that I get to take part in this God filled adventure. When I first started fundraising I wanted to find a way for my supporters to be more involved with the process – I wanted you all to feel like you were actually coming with me on this journey. My teammates and I were brainstorming fundraisers and one mentioned the Adopt-a-day fundraiser – boom. This is exactly what I was looking for.
We did the math on how much each day of our trip would cost and it came out to a little over $50 a day. So you can now adopt any day during the World Race for just $50 or a week for $350 – you get the point. If you choose to adopt a day I’ll write your name on that day in the calendar and will document everything that I did on that day and will email or Facebook it back to you – so you will know exactly what your money is doing. This is also a great way for me to keep in touch with you personally. I know it will be incredibly motivating for me to wake up in the morning and to see one of your names on my calendar and know that that day was thoughtfully paid for. Maybe no specific day is important to you? You can pick a country and I’ll mark your name down for a day that I’ll be in that country!
As a reminder the countries we’re set to go to are: (1) Lesotho (2) Swaziland (3) South Africa (4) Vietnam (5) Cambodia (6) Thailand (7) Nicaragua (8) Costa Rica (9) Jamaica (10) Haiti (11) Dominican Republic.
So far I’ve raised $3,683 of $16,961 which makes me 21.71% closer to my goal of being fully funded!! Adopt-a-day will help me get that much closer to my goal of raising $10,000 by training camp this June. Also, keep a look out for more t-shirts (pocket tees!) that I’m designing with Fund The Nations AND for my local Chicago peeps – I’m selling Threads Of Hope bracelets/key chains/bookmarks that range from $2-$8 so let me know if you’d like more info on those.
In order to keep myself sane, I bought a pretty little 2016 agenda to fill up with all of your names and I know this is going to bring so much joy to my days seeing the names of my supporters back home.If you’re interested in adopting a day please just shoot me a message which day you’d like.
