Sure, painting in the heat of India was difficult, but we grew closer out if it, plus we had a funny, professional painter to give us snacks at random.
Sure, there were days in Nepal where we had very little to do. So we prayed and worshiped ten hours straight. Toni, I will never forget the smile on your face after telling the team how the day spending 10 hours in worship and prayer was your best day on the race so far!!
Sure, we had to paint AGAIN in Thailand. But we were a 2 minute walk from Tesco Lotus where Jeremy could always have 2 dairy queen cones even though he let his wife believe he only had one…and then I would call him out on it during feedback later that night. Sorry Jeremy!! Plus, I am pretty sure we will NEVER forget about our nights spent with Thai Clapton.
That is only a small handful of the many memories I have taken away from the first 3 months of my World Race. However, that part of my Race is now over. I am no longer team leader of Found & Free.
Myself and two great women of God, Alyssa and Lizi, have been raised up as the squad’s new leaders. For the first three months in the field, F Squad has been led by two Alumni Racers, Joel and Melina. However, their time in the field is now drawing to a close. After our month 4 debrief next week, they will go home and F squad will head to Cambodia.
As the new squad leaders, our ministry has changed. The World Race I thought I was signing up for a year ago when I applied has changed. Instead of being part of a 6-7 person team serving various ministries throughout the world, my ministry now is to love F Squad. To pray for F squad. To support the team leaders and pour into the individuals of F Squad. We will spend time with various teams throughout each month and keep leadership back in the States up to date on where the squad is physically, mentally and most importantly spiritually.
The three of us are excited for this new season ahead of us. We are excited to see where our Father takes F Squad over the next 7 months!! Please be praying for unity between the three of us and for wisdom. For humble, spiritually thirsty hearts and that we will daily seek to lead out of our Father’s strength and not our own.
NOTE: I am still $4,000 away from being fully funded! Please prayerfully consider donating so that this journey God has me on can continue!!
