So our ministry this week is construction! Usually when I here construction and ministry in the same sentence I think, “Okay, they are going to have us do some silly busy work that they really don’t want to do, and were not really going to be doing anything really physically demanding at all.” Well that was not the case Wednesday February, 13th. There was plenty to go around. The day before I got to swing an axe and tear down trees! This day, it was all about moving wheel barrows of sand from one side of the compound to the other! My day is made! Towards the beginning of the day I was incredibly mad and grumpy about something and I couldn’t figure out what the heck it was. I told one of our contact, Tony, that I don’t care what he has me doing as long as it’s swinging an axe. Really I just want something physically exerting. After totally exhausting myself moving hundreds of pounds of sand my mood was ten times better.
It reminds me of how important it is to stay physically healthy. For me my physical state affects my mental state so much. If  I don’t have some form of physical fitness I get really angry and grumpy. I think this was God’s way of calling me out for literally only working out maybe 3 times previously on the race.
