(5/6/14)

This trail is by far one of toughest things I’ve done in my life. Every morning I ask myself, “Why am I doing this?” And I answer, “To spread the Gosple, to love the people, and to accomplish my dream.” When I think about it though, if I can’t do the first two the last sorta fades away.

I would like to tell you that the easy part is physical and the tough part is mental, but really, it’s all super tough. If you guys could be praying for my left knee, I would really appreciate it. Down hills have left there mark on some of the tendons.

There are a few “Trail Angels” I would like to give shout outs to for helping make this journey easier: Jenni and her family, the First Baptist Church of Blairesville, Lenny, Mark and Wendy, and Michael. Y’all have made the pain seem so small durring our rest days and we thank you so much.

Right now we’re in Erwin, TN and about 10 days from Damascus, VA. We’re making good progress and getting our trail legs. Please keep Mark and I in your prayers. Thanks again.

Love y’all,
Steven Buffington
