So I realized I’ve already been gone for almost a month and I haven’t even told all of you what I have been doing! So here it goes…

On January 1st we flew from New York to Saudi Arabia and from there to India. The whole squad spent the first five days in Hyderabad where we had training, debrief, and Adventure Day! For more information on Adventure Day you should check out Sheila’s blog (she is on team Shefa).

After our time in Hyderabad we headed to Bihar where we spent the rest of our time in India. The trip to Bihar from Hyderabad took two plane rides and a four hour bus ride. (At this moment I am really regretting not bloging more often!) There are a million things I could tell you about just the ride to Bihar but I have a whole month to catch you up on! We finally made it to the GEMS ministry campus late the next night.

GEMS ministry is basically Gods will in a nutshell. They have a great church, they give homes to orphans, they built schools for kids who normally would never have a chance for an education, they run a polio home, they have a nursing school, they teach girls how to sew so they can make a living, and this list just goes on and on and on.

The first three days at the sight we just toured everything GEMS is running. After that we went to one of the schools they run out in the villages. This is where the really poor people live and a lot of sex trafficking comes out of the villages. We got to speak in front of the kids and play with them as seen here.

We started painting one of the schools they are in the middle of building and may I say that we are all very grateful that Sheila and her artistic skills were there to help with the painting! Juddson Sheila and Aimee did almost all of the painting because Charlotte and I were of dancing most of the time.

We learned 9 different Hindi songs with their dance moves so that we could teach a group

of VBS directors that came to the GEMS vacation bible school gathering. Here are some awesome pictures of it!

Tonight we finally get to visit the polio home (I’ve been wanting to go there since day one). So you will get more pictures of that soon I promise.

So this has been India the first of 11 countries. If you like what you have seen and read so far please feel free to support me! This mission trip cost about $15,000 and as of right now I have $8,254 raised so I still need to raise $6,756 by June! Just click on the -Support Me- sign on the left hand side of the screen.

Thank you soooo much to everyone who has already supported me as well!! I would not be here if it was not for you! And a very special thanks to the anonymous donor who gave $1,000! I pray you are all blessed in your giving 🙂
