So I decided to go a little in depth into why I choose the saying #PursueGod #LoveOthers #ServeTheWorld…
I have been going to this church Cornerstone since the 7th grade, but my faith really did not begin till the 8th grade, where one day, I felt led to ask all these questions to the youth pastor I did not really know at the time, but that day I remember he was so patient with me as I asked all these questions that were probably basic knowledge for those who have been in the church for a while.
That day after I asked all these questions, he challenged me with a 40 day challenge, where I would do challenges along with reading the word of God. I would never forget how God used that time to change my life completely as a young lady. I remembering try to fast pop, but I gave on that part super fast, but I remember I could not get enough of reading the Bible. It was like God was opening my eyes to who He was and who I am.
I was super hungry and thirsty for the Word of the Lord. I could not explain it, it was as if God was filling me up like I have never been before…it was and still is a beautiful thing. 🙂
Before the saying for our church was “Love God, Love Others.” But they changed it later to" Pursue God", which to me is so much more beautiful. Many say they love the Lord, but genuinely loving something or someone, there is an action that does follow…a pursuit.
To pursue God to know Him like we have never known Him before. Pursue Him in His Word and in prayer. We CANNOT grow in Him and know Him more if we do not pursue Him.God's Word is ALIVE, and when dwelling in it, you can not help the fact that you will be changed.
God is with us wanting us to open our eyes to exactly who He is, and how much He pursues us and how much He loves us. He wants us to do the same. To desire spending time with Him, to pursue His thoughts, His desires, and will for us.
I believe this is the foundation for the walk of faith, to pursue God will allow everything else to follow.
