I witnessed someone getting healed.
Following Jesus is so funny because people think being a Christian is boring, but it is SO NOT boring. We read about of these interesting, exciting things that God did in the Bible and think for some reason that God’s voice and Jesus’s miracles fall short of reaching us because that was then and this is now. That is not the case!!
A few days ago me and a couple girls from my squad were talking about God’s ability to do miracles while we were working at the hospital. One of the ladies on staff was interested in our conversation and shared her own experience with being healed. She had gotten a hip surgery a few years back that ended up leaving her with one leg longer than the other. Noticeably longer—to the point where it took a toll on her quality of life.
She ended up going to a conference where the speaker had asked people to come up on stage if they needed healing. When she was prayed over, she said she watched with her own two eyes the Holy Spirit grow her leg!
One of her legs was still shorter than the other, but it wasn’t to same magnitude! It was roughly 4cm shorter than the other at this point, and she said that she was confident that God was going to finish the work he started.
Since we know that God is a God of completion and fullness, we knew that he had full intension of finishing the work he had started. Little did we know he would invite us in to witness him completely heal her.
We asked her if we could pray over her that day, and each of the following days until she was completely healed. She gave us a joyful “yes”, fully confident that she would in fact be healed at the hand of her Father.
God gave her her body to be a temple that holds the Holy Spirit. Pain and discomfort and struggle in one’s own skin is NOT of the Lord. He delights in bringing forth healing and alignment, even today!
We all placed our hands on her leg and began to declare healing over her. She says she felt her leg feeling hot, so she stood up and BOTH OF HER LEGS WERE THE SAME LENGTH. After years of feeling lopsided and uncomfortable while patiently waiting for God to complete the work he was doing in her, she was finally fully healed!! So many hallelujahs!!
Crazy to think that God lets the Holy Spirit pour out of us so we can witness him in spectacular ways! We were all praising like crazy on our way home, talking about how normal it is for God to heal, but not normal it is for us to witness.
Think about it—you don’t just see people getting healed left and right everyday! God is so good! He is the only one who could ever lengthen someones leg in an instance just to show them that he loves them. My my my, it’s wild getting to be a Christian and stepping into authority with God.
For all of you out there who are skeptical and didn’t know that God could still perform miracles today, I encourage you to start praying for people around you who are sick or need healing! Remember that our God has done incredible things in the past and he wants to keep showing you the incredible things that he can do. Jesus healed people and casted out demons and brought people from the dead and he says that we have the authority to do the same AND MORE!
“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” John 14:12
Let’s recognize that he want’s us to be a part of his miracles!
